Math at it's finest...

Dear Parents,

The Grade 4 and 5 students have an opportunity to invite a very special guest into our classroom to listen to us read. ‘Rowdy’, a Goldendoodle, has heard a lot about the AMAZING students in room 12 and would love to visit and hear our skills in action. Rowdy is incredibly gentle, patient, and friendly!

The main goal for inviting our furry friend in is to provide a relaxed and ‘dog-friendly’ atmosphere which allows students to practice the skill of reading. I am also hoping to build excitement about reading and provide the students with an opportunity to sit by, read to, and pat a calm and gentle dog. If the students enjoy their experience, I am hoping that Rowdy will be able to visit our classroom on a regular basis.

In order for Rowdy (who is owned by Christine Sambell ~a staff member at St. JP11), to come into our classroom, we need your permission. Please sign the form below and have your child return it to school, as soon as possible.

If you have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Karen Brennan

Getting To Know Each Other

Welcome to Grade 4/5 http://www.beaulyprimary.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/play-learn-pic.png

I would like to welcome you and your child to a new school year! This year will be an exciting one for the students, filled with new friendships, experiences and challenges.
My name is Karen Martin Brennan and I have the privilege of being your child’s homeroom teacher. I will be teaching Mathematics, Language Arts, and Religion first and second block each day. This first edition to our class newsletter will serve as my introduction to you as parents, as well as providing you with some suggestions on how you can help prepare your child for this school year. As new routines and expectations are established you will be informed through our class newsletter or class blog/ website.
All parents play an important role in our education process, therefore, it is essential that we work together to ensure that your child meets her/his full potential. To do so, it is vital that we maintain on open line of communication. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me at the school, by phone or by sending a note in your child’s agenda.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Karen Martin Brennan
